Edited by: Thorian Baalnorn on 06/08/2010 08:05:22 LOL. To someone who doesnt spend a lot of time living in 0.0, all the hype about 0.0 seems to be just scare tactics.
Some things you should know about 0.0:
1)Everyone uses intel channels. If one person sees you chances are most of the people in that region know you are there. If more people see you they probably know what your flying and where you are at most times. 2) 0.0 peeps dont jump out and start fighting everytime someone goes on a roam. Sometimes they will put together a pvp gang to fight, most times they will safe up. this is assuming you are roaming as a fleet and not solo. the smaller the gang the more likely you are to encounter a fight. Simply put in most cases we cant be bothered to taking out every roaming gang looking for some pvp. But when you literally spend a few hours to 1/2 a day in a fleet for pvp, You really dont care much about a 15 man gang running around trying to catch strays who were not watching intel. 3)If you look at dotlan maps you will notice many unclaimed systems. if you look at an influence map you will notice alliances hold sov over these systems. They are not actively claimed because of operating cost. Simply put they are not actively used. Try to claim one and the sov alliance will remove it. 4)The small alliances that own systems are almost always pets. Unless the region is really fractured and not controlled by any alliance with enough muscle to exert control over the whole region. Pets rent the systems. and help defend the region. in return the pets have the backing of the larger alliance to defend them.
Dont think null is safe because you go on a roam and dont really find anything to kill. You simply are not a threat to the ones who hold sov. and/or you are roaming them during their offpeak times so they just safe up until you get bored. Regardless if you roam a few systems with active stragglers, they have intel and probably use JBs to move around very quickly and safely. they can easily keep tabs on you and you may get a nasty surprise on occassion when they do decide to fleet up. the results will probably not be good on your side( think blob).
To really understand it you have to live in a 0.0 alliance for a while. But dont think you come into our yard and we dont look out our windows. Sometimes we might be loading the shotgun and others we might just blow it off and keep watching tv.
Afterthought: your best bet for a fight in 0.0 on a roam is to find a station system with alot (750 plus) of jumps in 24 hours and camp it during the on peak time. If you have hard time finding people in 0.0 you are either: A) roaming the region at the wrong time or B) roaming the wrong systems in that region.

If you need at least one years worth of pvp skill points just to pvp, how many years should people wait to go to 0.0?
I dunno maybe we should send them into 0.0 in a faction fitted rifter and 3 days old like you would have them do?You give terrible advice to noobs. I dont have anything against noobs pvping just not pvping solo in t1 frigs running around aimlessly like you were to suggesting. Under someones wing is a different story.
Your giving (bad) advice to noobs telling them to go blow up dozens of rifters solo and try to learn something when they probably dont even have the skills to fit all the mods they need to pvp on their ship. Brilliant plan.
Furthermore, your pathetic pettiness at carrying a difference of opinion into a completely unrelated thread really shows your insecurity that you are actually wrong.
On top of this when you quit playing in the kiddie pool, Lady Spank, killing mining barges and t1 frigs/cruisers and actually go below .5 and kill stuff you let me know you are ready to play with the big boys.
Otherwise QFT sit in high sec and station camp carebears like normal and pretend you are a pvper ok? Good girl.

Nice to see your counter argument is based on reality bro.
I am not arguing with you, i am laughing at you and at the same time i really feel a tad bit sorry for you. I have seen your killboard, I have seen your posts. You want to be important, but your not. You want to be a good pver, but your not.
Perhaps you should practice more and talk less?

Dude, Spank may be a loudmouth but if you are going to bring killboards into the argument you should at least make sure your stats are at least even slightly comparable before smacking.
You have... Lifetime kills74Lifetime losses43 and mostly fleet stuff where you don't need a brain to follow FC's orders
Spank has... Lifetime kills307Lifetime losses258 and nearly all solo. And I don't get your claim that these are mostly high sec ganks. I see exactly one high sec exhumer kill. WTF?
Even if you want to bring K/D ratio's into this you should be doing WAY WAY better operating in such large numbers.
In reality you are stupid.
I too am still training my one years combat skillpoints but read the board with much interest.
1) Lady Rant brought the killboards list up not I.
2) you fail at reading. Since i have only been in my alliance for a couple of weeks. Before that i ran my own corp and i kept a 6.5:1 kill ratio while in that corp. Most of my losses are indeed noob deaths. Not to mention at 5-6 months old i was in 0.0 fighting Stain which was actually more Stain ratting me then fighting. My friend gave me the same advice i gave. I didnt listen i died often learned that i needed better skills and better ships, something i didnt need to die to learn.
3) Almost all of my kills are in 0.0 or lowsec. almost all have less than 5 people on the mail. Most have 1-2 people in the mail as i usually only fly with a wingman unless i am doing a CTA.
4) Most of Spanks kills are t1 frigs and cruisers and my bad it was her corp that had the 90% mining barge kills in high sec.Spank wants to smack talk me she better come up with a more impressive killboard and better logic. So far i am seeing all mouth.
5) i didnt start my little puppy on her emoraging stalking. We gave our opinions on a topic she didnt like mine and like a 5 year old started flaming me. Now she follows me around like a little kid making comments on every post i make on here. It could probably be considered harassment but i think its kind of cute and extremely funny. Its like having a little puppy.
Now i visit the boards just cause her comments entertain me. I am just wondering if she is going to hi- jack every single thread i post in to rant at me

Originally by: Smabs I really wouldn't bring killboards into it Thorian - looking at the fits and engagements it's pretty clear that Lady Spank has a much better knowledge of the game. Plus most of them are solo against mostly pvp fit targets, which is a very difficult way to pvp.
The problem with recruiting people with a year worth of SP and no combat experience is that they can often fly a lot of stuff, but end up zooming around in 3 PDU drakes and inties made exclusively of overdrives and sensor boosters.
